I started making these Economy Blocks a few days ago to use up some little 3 inch 9 patches and some blue scraps. I already have 48 blocks. I make about a dozen of them at a time; cutting pieces, sewing and trimming in between other projects. I have to say that these are real scrap eaters. They say it's over when the fat lady sings but I'm still singing the blues and it isn't over yet.

These are just lovely!! What a fantastic use for those 3" little blocks...nice work hugs, Julierose
It is good to have a scrappy stash - these kinds of projects are just not possible with everything in bundles and rolls.
no longer just a song...a whole blue musical!
Those a great in all the blues - perfect way to use those 9 patches!
Love these blue blocks Cathy. They are similar to mine and really do work through the scraps. But I am still not seeing the bottom of the bin - hope you have better luck.
Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!
A glimpse at the bottom of the scrap bin only happens once in a blue moon! And even then, it's only a glimpse :)
Since I get your posts by email, they arrive a day late. But I nearly always recognize your latest block/project from the thumbnail on the linkies. When I saw the blue blocks on Cynthia's Sunday linkup, I knew it was you. I'll have to think about using some of the many "little blocks" I've been accumulating as the center for bigger blocks. But first I have to finish some UFOs.

Nine patches in these economy blocks look wonderful and use up even more scraps. Love your blues and am always amazed by your never-ending scrap bins and bags.
More gems from your scrap boxes, Cathy!
That's a lotta blues!
Oh, wow! These are really neat! I love the way 1-color scraps create a pool of shimmering interest.
