What's in the hoop?
Definitely not a quilt this time of year.
I don't have a/c so it's too hot to hand quilt. (My house is full of heat and haze).
So, what's in the hoop?
One of many needlework craft kits I picked up years ago at the thrift store that I thought might keep me busy in retirement. This one is a long stitch kit for a pillow.
It was a bargain at 95 cents and had never been opened so all the pieces and parts were included. Good thing is that I can see well enough to easily do that long stitch!
I even have some strawberry themed fabrics so I might make a throw to go with the pillow and wouldn't the two together make a nice little gift? (Well, I also was thinking instead of a pillow this might go toward making a tote or table topper. Hmmm... you know I have some old placemats and napkins around here somewhere that I made for my mom long ago and got back when she passed away. I embroidered strawberries on gingham way back in the day...hmmm...)
And sew on...

What a sweet stitchery! I adore strawberries in projects. Wow, I can't imagine not having A/C during the month of July. Please, please tell me you live somewhere where it's not hitting near 100 degrees! :)

You are coming right along with that kit. It's so nice that it hadn't been open or started so you know everything should be there and you don't have to contend with matching your stitches to what had been started. Good fin. I am sure you will know exactly what to do with it by the time that you finish. You are inspiring me to get out some of my old "slow stitching."

LOL -- one thing leads to another and another. I've rescued a fair number of never-opened stitchery kits, too, though owning them is all I've done with them. I keep thinking that the all-linen ones could be repurposed into quilting projects.
