Red Odds and Ends

Squared Away
7.5 inch blocks

Red is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) color of the month. Time to move on to a new color. I had a few 2 inch width scraps left over from scraps I used to make Stars and Happy Blocks last week  so I used those up this week.   Now that I look at the picture I see two of the bottom blocks are put together incorrectly. I'll blame the heat. We've had a heat wave that last few days and this old farm house does not have air conditioning. Thank goodness after last nights thunderstorms we now have cooler temperatures.

Bow Ties
3 inch blocks

Indian Hatchet
4 inch blocks

And sew on...

Your Squared Away blocks are pretty in red! They look like a great way to use up little broken dishes blocks, too. Hope you're finding ways to stay cool, Cathy!

Your blocks are lovely and complicated, so we know that misssssssnakes happen. But they’re easy fixes (and I bet you’ve already fixed them!). Stay cool and drink lots of water!

Love your RED broken dishes. Another striking project from your scrap bags :-)

Nice work on the last of the RED scraps. Here's hoping you will have some fun with yellow scraps during August, Cathy!

Pretty reds... and I kinda like that mistake block! High temps without AC is not fun. I hope the normal temps come back soon for you.

I sympathize with you on the heat and no AC. I have the same situation. The only sewing I get done is the weekly sew day at a friend's house with AC. It's rained off and on for the last 4 hours (no severe storms) and that has cooled things off. Forecast is for below normal temps for the first 2 weeks of August. I can live with that. I couldn't find the mis-pieced blocks at first. At least you found them before the blocks were all sewn together.

More red blocks to weave into your ongoing projects. Still in awe of how you keep track of them.

I don't think that I've seen those Squared Away blocks before. I really do like them and everything looks good in red!

An impressive array once again. I like the quirkiness of the "skinny knot" bow ties. The squared away blocks look interesting set side-by-side. Hmmm..... Much cooler here today, too.

The heat is really doing a number on our brains, right?
I need to hunt up my squared away blocks - they were a fun project that got set aside for no good reason...
