Two New Comfort Quilt Tops!
1. Zip - 42 x 54
2. Windmill - 40 x 56
Zip blocks finish at 6 x 9 inches. I made these with scraps when the Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) color of the month was light blue.
I've heard these blocks called various names. I chose to call them Windmills. I also made these as a RSC project but only ended up making them with blues, oranges, greens and purple 2.5 inch scraps.
Now I really really really need to concentrate on getting some tops quilted and donated. Really!
And sew on...

Like I said before, I'm not usually a fan of the zipper blocks but yours in light blues really make me happy!
Two great tops. Both really effective. I’m surprised how much contrast there is in the Zip Quilt, even though the basic colour in every block is light blue. I’ve only seen really bright and colourful versions of this quilt design before but your blue one is lovely. Great work, Cathy.
the fun is in sewing the blocks together into a top. Both of these are pretty. I think another name for the Windmill is Illinois Roads,

So perfect to see the finished quilts coming together at the end of the year. Quilting will be next on the list for lots of us I think.
Love the blue zipper quilt. I've seen it in many different colours but this is my favourite, so much so that I want one too! It's an unusual colour combo in the Windmill quilt but I like it. Great job! ;^)
It's so easy to merrily stitch our chosen blocks, month after month. Then comes the task of assembling them, and finally, the quilting. That always takes a bit more work, at leas for me.
Congrats on two great flimsy tops. They are both pretty, but I particularly like the blue zipper quilt. I have tons of blues for sure. I feel a quilting marathon coming on.
