Broken Dishes - A Finish!

Broken Dishes
60 x 78

I started making these six inch Broken Dishes blocks back in 2016 as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) Project to use 3.5 inch scraps if I had any in the color of the month.

Sometimes I didn't have any 3.5 inch scraps in the RSC color so I didn't make any blocks. And so it took awhile to accumulate enough blocks for a nice twin sized quilt.  I put the top together back in May of this year and since I found a backing and had some light gray thread to use on this colorful quilt it stayed near the top of the quilting pile.

I think this will make a nice donation quilt.

I forgot to take a picture of the back but I used a very soft light green sheet.  Since there's a lot of color on the front and since it is big enough for a bed I didn't figure it needed a fancy backing.

I used light gray thread and quilted spirals on my little Brother DSM.

Now I can mark another one off the list and move on to the next.

Isn't it amazing that simple half-squares put together into 4-patches can create such an interesting quilt? You did another great job! ---"Love"

It's just juicy with color! I love how random the color placement is and am marveling at how such a simple block yields so much movement :)
