The First Flimsy of 2019

 It's a flimsy!
Triangle Tiles
82 x 92

This is a quilt inspired by a c. 1940-1950 quilt made by Stella Freeman Gillion in the collection of her grandson, Alan Childress.

I don't usually add borders but wanted to stay close to the original inspiration. And with the in mind I will probably hand quilt Baptist Fans.

I love this! It's amazing what a big impact a simple HST can have, isn't it? Absolutely gorgeous!

Wow, this is a beautiful finish! Funny how things circle back to you. I went to elementary school with Alan and lost touch after all our moving around. His grandmother must have been quite the woman if she inspired this gorgeous quilt.

What a great pattern for your half square triangles I love the color combination. The borders are a perfect finish. Have fun quilting it.

That is stunning! And that blue border sets off the colorful blocks really well. Happy New Year!

I usually remember blocks you are making and squirreling away, but not these ones. Interestingly my maiden name was Freeman! Yes, I think this flimsy needs a border, perhaps a more "busy" fabric? No doubt you have several fabrics you are auditioning.

Thank you, thank you. I am using this pattern for my Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2019. I'll start just as soon as the kids leave for Oregon.

Oh Cathy, I love this quilt! There's just something about repetition perfectly balanced with scrappiness that melts me. What a great finish.:)

Wow, it’s just beautiful! All those HSTs require so much trimming, but the look is rhythmic and stunning!
