What's In The Hoop?

What's in the hoop?
Jack's Chain

I'm big stitch hand quilting with off white perle #12.

It's a big 82 x 87 so this will probably take me into the new year.

I worked on it off and on over the years until it became a flimsy in March of this year.

I have a big pile of tops that I want to hand quilt. I decided to work on this one after I finished the Majestic Mountains in my previous post  because I had been working with Nine Patches in November so it only seemed right to pick this one for hand quilting.

I'm really enjoying my time quilting this. Most of those little nine patches came from swaps over the years. Now I can enjoy the catalog of fabrics while I stitch.

I have one Jack's chain block made on my wall to motivate me. Unfortunately, it is still lonesome there. Congratulations for finishing yours!

Love it. Big stitching is certainly on my list and I have plenty of heavier weight thread in different colors. I just need to get it started! Do you have a special thimble for the big stitching? You will be finished with this one in no time. Time passes fast when you are enjoying something.

It's so much fun to reminisce over fabrics. Jack's Chain is on my "Someday" list.

Great hand quilting! And beautiful fabric choices and a block I'm not familiar with, must look into that, Jack's Chain.

2014 or not, it's still progress! who doesn't love a nice hand-quilting project.

I've recently been looking through many of my notebooks and seeing the "to do" lists that I had hoped to work on that year and some of the pages I can honestly say that nothing happened with any of the projected projects. I am proud of you for making progress even when I am not.
