Roses in December: Rosa Rugosa Blues

Rosa Rugosa Blues
48 x 60
It's another new top!

I've been working with my collection of rose prints this month. I noticed I had several small pieces of blue rose prints and neutrals so decided to make some 18 patches. I didn't have quite enough rose print scraps to use so threw in some scraps of butterfly prints. (Butterflies - another one of my "collections").

I made 12 inch (finished) blocks (2.5 x 4.5 inch pieces) and alternated the orientation of every other block.

This is quilt top #5 of my "Roses in December"  stash busting series.

"God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December" - J.M. Barrie, author.
And when my memory fails I guess I'll have quilts so that I might have roses in December.

What a good idea to combine roses prints with butterfly fabrics. I’m sure they get along in the natural world, so why not have them living side by side in a pretty quilt?

I really love this one. The rectangles make it interesting. I think it would be a great charity quilt, fun but this quick. Thank you for sharing. Always looking for fresh ideas!
