It's a finish!!!
Fractured Rainbows
96 x 96
hand quilted
This quilt has gone by many names.
Gayle, who blogs at Mangofeet, sent a link to a quilt to me and Sally, who blogs at Objects of Design last year. The link led to a Denyse Schmidt pattern she called Garden Mosaic.
In her email Gayle said we would have to be Totally Demented to make it.
It called for 2048- 1.5 inch finished HSTs.
I didn't have a 2 inch scrap bin at the time so I dug into my milk crate of scrap chunks and cut 2 inch strips. I used an Easy Angle ruler to cut the HSTs. I used muslin and scraps in colors of the rainbow so I started calling my quilt Fractured Rainbows.
I used muslin on the back and then I hand quilted it. I also used muslin for the binding.
And now it is in the rotation of quilts I use on my bed.

Hurray!!!!
It's utterly fabulous and totally marvelous and blissfully beautiful!
(And here I sit, the sad instigator, with only half my blocks sewn...)
Congratulations Cathy! This quilt is stunning and is such an accomplishment. I am glad that it is being used and enjoyed as it surely should be. :)
I love it! I have lots of 1.5" bonus HST that I've been working on. I just make them and then a pattern shows up. I might have to try this one.
An amazing quilt! Beautifully scrappy, it's one that you could spend ages looking at while having your morning cuppa in bed!
You're starting March off like a lion with such a splendid finish. It's a keeper indeed!
Great quilt and big, too! The pattern is perfect for the name. Goodjob!
My goodness. What a lot of pieces. I know you'll enjoy it on your bed. Definitely a keeper.
Woo Hoo! Its beautiful. What an accomplishment.
It's totally fabulous... I adore it!
I'm glad you are keeping this one and using it. While I thought it was cool, I wasn't even tempted to start as I just didn't need a quilt that big and it isn't a pattern that could be made smaller. You're doing well at getting those UFOs done.

Totally Amazing is more like it! This is such a beautiful, happy, scrappy quilt. It must be heavy, too, with all those tiny pieces :)

So fabulous, congratulations. You inspire me to be fearless.
I like the clothesline photos, brrr.
Wow it is gorgeous and great snow shots to show it to us! Hand quilted - that is some serious dedication!
Your quilt turned out amazing. And the hand quilting really worked out well. I notice that I turned my head for a second or two, and you have been on an incredible tear. I think I feel the earth tilting a bit because of all of the quilts you are finishing.
I really like this quilt, but it does make me dizzy! It is truly incredible! ---"Love"
This is nuts and I love it! Well done you. I'm so glad to hear it's already in use.
There are so many tiny pieces that I understand why you call it demented! But it really is beautiful! What a great one to keep for yourself and use on your bed! So much fun and seriously impressive.
Oh my Oh my! I love it and can't imagine the time it took you but bravo! Well done! It is absolutely wonderful!
WOW! what a mammoth undertaking - and you hand quilted it too! Well done. Thank you for linking up to the Peacock Party.
Hi there! I just saw this on Pinterest and wanted to say how amazing it is! I absolutely love it and applaud you for making so many tiny HSTs and then hand-quilting it. Incredible! Sx
Amazing Cathy! Happy to read you are keeping this one for yourself.
This quilt is gorgeous, Cathy! It's been on my bucket list for a while now. I'll have to move it up a little further even though I have a ton of other projects going on. Looks like a great leader/ender idea.
