It's a Flimsy! Spider Webs

 Spider Webs
64.5 x 86

An old UFO has now moved forward to flimsy stage!

I MIGHT be able to piece together all my remaining spider web fabrics for a backing.

  I used 1.5 inch scraps.
When I do get to quilting it I'll quilt in some spider webs like I did on the one I made previously for my grandson.
I feel like I need to start building an Ark.  It has rained almost every day in May.  Every once in awhile the sun comes out for a few minutes and I go for a walk through the flower gardens and catch a glimpse of some rain soaked flowers like this poor tree peony already loosing petals.  {sigh}

We are experiencing a severe thunderstorm right now. Guess I'll go sew.

Love this flimsy!
We've also had a lot of rain this month. No garden has been planted.
Perhaps you've seen in the news about the river flooding in Arkansas; we're not in danger of flooding where we live but the river isn't too far away. We're hoping it doesn't affect feed delivery for our chickens.

Great finish! Love using my smallest scraps and I have been string piecing too, but just in squares and this pattern is way more effective.

Your spiderweb quilt is beautifully creepy! Maybe you can call it "Arachnaphilia". Sandy at sewhigh.blogspot.com

Love your quilt! The weather patterns are certainly changing all over the world. In Britain our weather is constantly changing. Hot and sunny, then almost frost, then sunny. Last two days quite chilly, rain or grey skies which threaten rain. I’m changing my clothes all the time and never seem to be wearing the right combination !

I love that you used spiderweb fabric as the background for spiderweb blocks! This looks fabulous. We have had a soggy spring as well (and thunderstorms here now as I type) so my plans for the flower beds have had to be scaled back for lack of dry weather to work in.

Your quilt really has turned out very pretty, and that spider web fabric is just what all those little pieces needed. Good job! ---"Love"

Congratulations on your flimsy finish. I like the occasional 'black out', very dark, star, looks dramatic.
I also like your Depression Block quilt, another beautiful finish. Your scrappy color mixing is the best!

I'm always amazed at how MANY different fabrics you have in a given theme. Spiderweb fabrics...who knew there were such a large variety of prints? Your pansy quilt boggled my mind with the variety :)

Well done. I've made spiderwebs so know how much work is required. I think the black /dark in between sets them off to advantage.

I love your spiderweb quilt! So clever! We’re about to start building an ark too because of all the rain. DH and I were joking about it last night... so how big is a cubit? And can we leave mosquitoes off?

I know this is an old UFO, but it still seems like you put it together in like 20 minutes...
And I had no idea there were so many spiderweb fabrics - such a perfect bunch of backgrounds for this quilt!

When I was a child, Spiderweb quilts seemed scary to me. Now I love them. A great way to use scraps which is always important. This one is cute. Nice, bright scraps and adorable spidery prints. I hope you get it quilted soon.
Yes, everywhere I go we run into storms - either rain or snow. Who'd a thought snow would fall in late May?
