It's a Flimsy! String Stars

 String Stars
63 x 81

It's a flimsy!
30s reproduction 1.5 inch scraps and Kona Spring.
For some reason I always think string quilts should be made from scraps and it took awhile to accumulate enough 30s scraps to finish the blocks.

Goal accomplished so at the end of the month I'll link up to OMG at Elm Street Quilts.

And now a bag of leftover 30s 1.5 inch scraps has joined with other 1.5 inch scraps in the Spider Web shoe    project box.

Super lovely string stars flimsy!
I enjoy seeing your quilts and tops on your clothesline, I get
an idea of your weather, looks cold.
Thanks for sharing more process, it's a big help.

That's because string quilts not made from scraps always look a little too perfect and bland! This is wonderful! Love how that solid green helps make the strips shine.:)

String quilts are conducive to scraps. It may be why I love them. Yours turned out beautifully.

What a beauty, Cathy. You chose the perfect green for the stars. Using scraps really made this quilt. I almost always end up with more scraps than I started with, too.

Absolutely delightful!!

Of course you're supposed to use scraps! Cutting into yardage for strings...is that even possible? It never entered my mind :)

Wow! Just gorgeous! I’ve been planning to make a string star quilt in 2019 because of your inspiration. Mine will have a black background, though. But nothing could compare to this beauty!!

Congratulations, Cathy, on finishing your flimsy before the end of the year. I've loved watching this quilt being made, following all the stages and, like everyone else think the green is super - exactly the right colour to show off those 30s strips. Well done.

That quilt really does look vintage with that shade of green in there. I always loved this design and it's on my bucket list. Great job!

I love how your top turned out! I think the green really makes the stars pop! Beautiful!! I have not done string piecing, but may just have to try this one. Love this pattern! Thanks for sharing!

Very pretty and looks tedious.

I am not a string fan (piecing that is; I love the look), but you do inspire me by your wonderful finish!

I love string quilts and hope to follow along with Lori's 2019 String quiltalong (Humble Quilts). My string bins overfloweth! Your solid green reminds me so much of the 1930s quilts, a perfect shade to compliment your vintage strings.
