Little Blue Pills

Blue Lozenges
2.5 x 5 (2 x 4.5 finished)
I think I just made 54 of them.
Tedious work if you are not a leader/ender personality type.

Lozenges remind me of cough drops. Cough drops remind me of horehound. Horehound reminds me of bitter pills to swallow. Pills remind me of "don't be such a pill" which reminds me of tedious and monotonous.

These lozenges are tedious and monotonous to make so I shall call them Bitter Pills.

I started making these maybe in the middle of  last year. They are a good use of 2.5 inch scraps and they are kind of a fun fabric catalog. When I don't have anything better to do I guess I'll count all the Bitter Pills and see how many I have. Surely there's enough for some cute little quilt.  Hmmm, I don't see any Pink Pills in the pile. Maybe I'll wait until after next month to count.

Got Scraps?
Join us each ScrapHappy Saturday and show us what you've done with them.

I agree lozenges are very time consuming--tedious even. but I love the way they look all together.
So, in between-times, I sew up a few in a chain, then cut , then iron, then trim--lotsa steps--not hard, just, well, tedious, your blue ones look great ...hugs, Julierose

I agree... Tedious! I suppose that's why I haven't started any. Yours are very pretty.

I love how you came up with the name. Too funny. You have lots of fun scraps in those blocks.

Love the story. I made some lozenges last year but haven't done anything with them yet. They are so small and you need so many to make anything worthwhile from them but they do use up scraps.

I made mine - but I also power stitched them (assembly line style). I found the leader ender approach to be "tedious and monotonous" - LOVE the name you arrived at!

What a fun post and a great use of blues.

Your lozenges are great. I've never made any, but I have lots of 2-1/2 inch strips and squares. Maybe I'll give them a try.

love those lozenges and the fact that you have used blacks and white and anticipation of the secondary pattern you are going to have when you start sewing it together. Have fun with your pinks.

I understood the pill with fish oil, but all the pills with cat fur made me choke.

Your blue pills would make a cute I Spy quilt for a child, just because I can see the fun images in the blocks. There may be other fun images in your other color pills too to build up that fun kid's quilt. :- )

Bitter Pills... I totally follow your logic! They sure are pretty though!

I think they are quite sweet. I've made snowballs that are kind of the same thing... only bigger. Harder to swallow, though.
If you made the other rainbow colors and mixed them up you could have a remarkable quilt.

Funny blog post. Hope the pills are not too hard to swallow!

Despite being bitter pills, your lozenges will make a beautiful quilt.

Great idea! This should make a great quilt and you have a vivid imagination so however you do it something tells me it will be cool and unique - just like you ;-)

I've been getting your posts by email for a month or so. I can not believe all the finishes!
How can one woman sew this much, and finish this many quilts so quickly?!
Tell us your secret.

I'm a fan of looking at them... but didn't start any because I knew I'd feel the way you do about them!
