I took a camera with me this morning (about 6:30 a.m.) on my walk through the gardens. I love this time of year when the daylilies are blooming. I started my collection over 30 years ago and over the years have divided them and divided them and divided them. The flowers usually open early in the morning and wither by the next day.
One of these days I'm going to make a whole cloth quilt of my flower garden with embroidery, applique, stumpwork, broderie perse and whatever else suits my fancy. So I've been taking lots of pictures for reference. I will probably start on it this fall.

Gorgeous flowers and a great idea for your plan for an all encompassing new quilt. Very exciting and it will allow you to use all your different skills.
They are lovely. I had some at a previous house but they were just yellow. Yours are a rainbow of glory.

Just gorgeous daylilies...well, mine hadn't even bloomed--just in bud--that is until this morning--when I looked out at them, the deer had eaten all the buds OFF!!!!;((( So I appreciate your lovely pictures of blooms I should have had...;(((

How many varieties do you have in your gardens? They are all gorgeous! I only saw one found in my own yard.
I only have two day lily plants in bloom right now. I've sprayed the buds on the others with Liquid Fence, so here's hoping they start blooming before the deer eat them or they dry up from the drought. Yours are beautiful.

The saddest thing about moving is leaving my Day Lily. I too had a huge collection that I added to every year since 1976. For some reason I have no desire to work in the garden here. There are breaks in the fence on the mountain. In come the cows. Two days ago they were eating plants in the garden and also ate a palm tree that Alyssa just planted. Dang cows. But they DO leave fertilizer, lol.
