Secret Santa Sew Along - It's a Flimsy!

It's a flimsy!
Secret Santa
43 x 56

Do you recognize the block as Burgoyne Surrounded?

I really don't like to do sew alongs or mysteries any more but this one struck my fancy -- little pieces and I could use some of my Christmas fabrics and have a little fun. You know I want to empty all those holiday fabric bins!

I wish I had some smaller print light Christmas fabrics but I didn't so used what I had. Most of my Christmas light prints are used up now. I used a variety of snowflake fabrics when I got to the sashings.  I have a couple of large prints I can piece together for the back.

It's kind of small but when finished might look nice on the back of a chair, on a table or on my lap. Or I'll give it to my daughter who loves all holidays and holiday decorating.

Yes, I did recognize the pattern easily! It turned out very pretty! I wish I had your patience and determination to use up all those little scraps that accumulate! ---"Love"

I've seen a few of the blocks posted by others. Yours has a vintage feel because of all the different "lights". You'v used up a bunch of your seasonal fabrics this year as you wanted. I like this one. Its kind of interesting to have a mystery quilt turn out to be a traditional block.

I love your Christmas colors! This came out beautifully--most of my lighter colored Christmas fabrics are used up, too (uhhh..I may HAVE to purchase a few more??--my shelves are a'groanin' as it is!!). I do love that pattern especially in that smaller size. Beautiful job on this hugs, Julierose

Great pattern and you have obviously found just the design to use up a lot of those Christmas fabrics you had stored. Well done, the top looks lovely.

I wish I had joined in on this sewalong as I have always wanted a Burgoyne Surrounded quilt, but who knew? I'm saving all the clues until after the holidays since I have too many things going right now. Yours came out great.

Very pretty! I almost joined in, but the timing wasn't great for me. I'm happy to see yours all pieced up, though. Makes me feel slightly surrounded by Burgoynes. That's near the thyroid, right?

It’s lovely! Did you recognize the pattern as you were doing it, from your last stand with Burgoynes?

Looks great! This was such a fun sew along and using up some scrappy stash was the best part!

Looks great! Now the pattern is no longer a mystery (which scare me!) I am tempted to make it in reverse - why is it we always run out of neutrals first :(

Burgoyne Surrounded makes a lovely quilt. Christmas fabric makes it up well.

I love the golden glow that your background colors are giving this! Beautiful Burgoyne!

This is one I wish I would have joined. No triangles, curves or paper piecing! I might make it someday. Yours turned out so nicely in Christmas fabric. Love the sunlight that shows through.

So beautiful! I'm going to list a few finished tops that I've seen in blog land and link up to your quilt in a post this week.

Nice color mix! I thought mine was rather boring.
