 2. Boho Roosters - in the hoop
 3. Drunkard's Path - needs backing then will be quilted on my DSM
 4. Plain Brown Wrapper - Needs backing. Not sure if it will be quilted on my DSM or by hand.
 5. Pansies - Needs backing then will probably be hand quilted.
 6. Rocky Road to Kansas - needs backing and quilting.
 7. Wandering Geese - backing ready. Needs quilting.
 8. Star Chain - backing ready. Needs quilting
 9. Snowball's Chance. - Needs quilting. Will be combo of machine and hand.
 10. - Fall Festival - will be top soon. Then will need quilting since I do have backing ready.
 11.  Happy Christmas - need backing then machine quilting.
 12, 13, 14 - Orphan block quilts - need backing and quilting.
15 - Foothills - needs sashing, backing, quilting.
 16. - Blue Collar Work - will be flimsy soon.
17 - Patriot Mystery - needs backing and quilting
18 - Old Old Mystery - carried over and carried over as a goal. It's pin basted and ready to be quilted. I just need to do it!!
19. Rosebud. - Need to piece backing and get it quilted. Will quilt on DSM. (Maybe).

20. PREPARE - needs to be prepared for quilting!

Most of these need backings. Since I retired last March I've been on "no buy" for fabric and trying to "make do" with what I have.   I might have to break down and buy some backing fabrics because I have plenty of small pieces of fabric for piecing (which I love) but not many pieces of fabric for even piecing a backing. I also might have to leave the hermitage to visit the thrift stores to see if there are any sheets suitable for use as backings since my stash is almost used up.  Batting is another thing that's running short. I've even pieced most of those leftovers.

The other thing is that I prefer hand quilting over quilting on my DSM but know that I will never be able to hand quilt all of the quilts I already have made and will make.  So I just need to tell myself I CAN quilt on my DSM. I CAN and I WILL.  And it will be OKAY.

I feel the same way, though my DSM quilting will more and more be with the walking foot, which I actually don't mind ... too much. Hand quilting will always be preferable, especially for those tops I absolutely love. I finally broke down and bought a few backings when the wide fabric was on sale, though I'm finding the fabrics more coarse than I prefer.

I see a lot of bonnie hunter influence here:)
Plain brown wrapper reminds me of my Not Ringo Lake
well done on the finishes. I figure when I'm gone any ufos will hit the dump but someone will keep the finished tops. So I don't do ufos !

Just one word: PHEW!
And now a few more...... amazing collection of brilliant quilts, I can see why you need to shop for backing and batting.

Congratulations on getting all those gorgeous quilts to this stage. Whew! Big pat on back! Love boho roosters! Is that a Kathy Doughty pattern? I bought one of her books yesterday. I hope I got the right book! Great job!

You have made some incredibly awesome quilts! I really love Blind Man's Fancy. I never bought backings ahead of time so there was always either a delay or a scramble to procure one. What I've been doing lately is buying backings when there is a really good sale. Most of the quilts I make are either full or queen. Sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't, but when they do, it has been a real life saver and $$ saver. I've done the same with batting. As far as the quilting goes, hand quilting always looks much better to me. But sometimes, a quilt just has to be finished.

It's a good thing I'm allowed to have lots of favorites, because these are ALL my favorite!
And I hear ya on the hand-quilting. The more I love a quilt, the more I want to hand-quilt it, but since my tops are really really really starting to pile up, I'm pushing myself to machine quilt instead.

Soooooo much color and beautiful scraps! LOVE your projects!--except that they are so scrappy and fun that it makes me want to add more projects to my busy list.

Such a treat to see all your tops together like this! So much color, and variety, and creativity. I hope it's OK for you to buy some yardage for backings, otherwise it sounds you'll be piecing little itty bitty bits together for that.

That's a whole year or two of work right there!
Wow... such great quilts!

Oh my! And that's only the top 20? If I had to hand quilt any of them it would take a decade.

Yes, Wow! Great work and planning.
Fabric store sales and thrift shops are good places for finding
backing and batting, I agree.
It's part of the adventure isn't it?

I'm overwhelmed at all your gorgeous quilts! I have one idea for baking. Have you hard of the Quilted Twins blog. It is fabulous. One twin makes quilts, the other runs a fabric store. The prices for fabric is $4.99/yd. They have a big collection of wide backed fabric at $7.95/yd. Shopping is always $5.00 no master how much you buy. Their fabric collection is different from most stores, they have lots of cool fabrics that army available anymore. Heres the link they sent me foot the newest backing fabric. https://quiltedtwins.us14.list-manage.com/track/click?u=122cff5c0f8ae787ef8f2a77a&id=1d79a7aaa5&e=e68d855794
It is much easier to do this on a laptop out desktop computer. Even though I know my way around their site on my desktop, I can't find things on my phone! Anyway, hope this helps!

You certainly enjoy color! And you have some great finishing options to consider. As someone who only quilts on my DSM, I am in awe that you do so much hand quilting.
