Easter Fabric Postcards

Not a good picture, I know. I was in a hurry to get them done and mailed. These are this month's fabric postcards I made to send to my granddaughters from "secret admirer". I printed a vintage postcard to fabric then embroidered on it with sulky thread. I'm sure the little ones (both age 5) will love the glittery effect of the thread outlines. They still don't have any idea who could admire them so much.

Small Stuff

I told someone the other day that I don't sweat the small stuff. I think maybe I do even though I say I don't. At any rate, I recently completed some small stuff as follows:

I made a winter biscornu for a pincushion swap but when partners were drawn I saw my partner wanted some "citrus accents" which prompted me to go through my stash and find some citrus items. I will send her both pincushions now.

Same yahoo group has a potholder swap going on. My partner has no preferences so I looked though my 30 scraps and came up with a pinwheel on front and small squares on back. I love 30s reproduction fabrics. They remind me of my grandma's quilts and make me smile. Hope my partner enjoys.

I completed this pansy pillow. Pansies and roses are two of the favorite flowers I grow in my gardens. This is made of rather bright fabrics I wouldn't have chosen but since I found the whole kit  (except for stuffing) for 65 cents at the thrift store I thought I would go ahead and buy it and make it. I haven't decided if I should add it to my Christmas present staff or keep it myself.

And finally, the Feb. fabric postcards for my granddaughters. I send them from "secret admirer" and they still, at age 5, haven't figured out who that might be. On the back I have written a quote from Braveheart (my favorite movie) - "Your heart is free, have the courage to follow it."

Fabric Postcards

I have been sending my granddaughters, now age 5,  fabric postcards each month for over a year now. I have always signed them as "Secret Admirer" so they call them their "Secret Admirer Cards". One puts them in a box and the other puts them between pages of a scrapbook. They look forward to them each month. Yesterday I mailed January's card.

On the back - "To enjoy the beauty of a snowflake one must stand outin the cold. Love, from a secret admirer."

And in December I embroidered angels.  I don't remember now exactly what I wrote on the back.

St. Patrick's Day Cards

Since before Christmas I have been making fabric postcards each month to send to my four-year-old granddaughters. I sign them "secret admirer". I think they suspect I am the sender, but they aren't quite sure.

Normally I just put a p0stcard stamp on them and they go through the mail just fine. But this month I needed to add another 35 cents.

I'm a little behind with posting - I should be off making their Easter cards!
