Quilts of September #14

Creepy Crawlies
40 x 40
Just a little finish for today.

A couple of years ago someone gave me a layer cake called Creepy Crawlies. Since I had never tried a Wonky Nine Patch block I decided to give it a try last year and made this top.

I had to add a few creepy crawly fabrics of my own in order to have enough blocks for a little baby quilt. I quilted it with swirls which seems to be my go-to for getting things quilted quickly on my DSM.  I had some spider web fabric for a binding.

I had a little piece of that text print leftover from making some other creepy quilt for one of the grandkids but it wasn't quite enough so I had to add a piece with dragonflies.

When one of my granddaughters was younger she had a fascination with bugs. She used to love to dig around in the backyard to see what little critters she could find. She may have even tasted a few and secretly may have kept a few as pets.  On the other hand my grandson and other granddaughter did not like to get their hands dirty - no jumping in piles of leaves for them! There might be bugs in there!

That's finish #14 for September!
My OMG (One Monthly Goal) is to see how many quilts I can finish in September.

And on to the next!
(How many will I finish in September????)

What a fun quirky quilt for a child! Lots of interest, kind of I-spy-ish.

What a great baby quilt. Some lovely creepy crawly fabric. The ladybirds amongst the daisy field is super. Will you keep this to gift personally?

This quilt is adorable! You ought to win some kind of prize for finishing so many in one month - maybe you will. I think Elm Street Quilts awards prizes.
