Plus Postage

This week I worked with my blue-green 1.5 inch scraps and only had enough for one Plus Postage block.

This pattern is from American Patchwork and Quilting April 2016 called Plus Postage. It is designed by Susan Ache.

The Beantown Girls by [Healey, Jane]

Speaking of the Red Cross...I recently finished reading The Beantown Girls. I'm a fan of WWII historical fiction but I had never heard of the Red Cross Clubmobiles and the Doughnut Dollies until I read this book.

I considered jumping in on this QA. I never thought of using the scraps like you are. Brilliant! It's on my quilty wish list to do someday... Keep on stitching, Cathy.

I really like your Plus Postage block in TEAL!! I'm not very good with sewing Postage Stamp blocks. Otherwise, I would SEW give this a try!

What a fun block. The red unifies even if the backgrounds are different. Fun idea for a rainbow quilt that doesn't seem chaotic

You did it again! Another beautiful quilt! The book sounds very interesting; I may have to check to see if our library has it. ---"Love"

I'll have to check out that book. I had heard of the donut dollies... there seems to always be historical or war time information on in my house. Your blocks are looking great all together.

DH and I volunteered with the American Red Cross in disaster relief, and really loved doing that work. I miss it! We were able to work while living full time in our RV, driving to the disaster site and having our home with us. Not possible in the boat. This block calls me, although like Joy, I'm not so great with the 1" finished squares :)

That's such a great block! That will be a wonderful quilt design. Thanks for the book recommendation, too - WWII historical fiction is a favorite of mine!

Your plus block looks great, but just how small are those postage block square surrounding the plus? They look so tiny.
