Staying Positive?
On the Plus Side?
The Power of Positive Thinking?
It's a donation quilt so it doesn't need a name.
42 x 54
I started making these six inch blocks way back in 2013 as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge project. I made them from 2.5 inch scraps when I felt the urge and/or had the 2.5 inch scraps in the color of the month.
I finished the top in January 2020. And now the quilt is finished. As you can see I quilted it on my old backup DSM (main one has not gone into the shop for repair yet) with horizontal and vertical lines.
This will be donated to Wrap-A-Smile, a group that provides quilts for both Rotaplast and Alliance for Smiles missions. Rotaplast and Alliance for Smiles. Both of those organizations are committed to helping children and families worldwide by eliminating the burden of cleft lip and/or palate, burn scarring, and other deformities. Unfortunately a lot of the 2020 missions have been postponed.
If you would like to join an online guild that supports these organizations as well as Quilts Beyond Borders and many others then join us at Sunshine Online Quilt Guild.
And the back? It's a gently used sheet sent to me by a friend.
And the binding? It's scrappy and from a bag of 2.25 bindings sent to me by a friend.

Hi Cathy! Glad to see this one finished. I liked it so much that your flimsy pic is STILL saved on my phone. I have a total of 5 blocks made for my own version. Sandy at sewhigh.blogspot.com
The quilt will definitely be a "Plus" for whoever receives it. Nice job. ---"Love"
Nice! And it will bring a smile to the new face of the recipient.
Congrats on another great RSC finish!!
A lovely bright cheerful quilt. Love all of your titles. Difficult to chose one.
A great finish! I did like your phrase 'gently used sheet'... I've been going through my linen cupboard this week for linens that could be used for backings too!
It is a very cheerful quilt and I love the placement of the quilting lines.
Really cute quilt design! This should make someone very happy. I don't know how you got that plaid backing so straight. I stay away from plaids and stripes because it is a headache for me.
Your UFO closet must be getting empty by now?? You are doing great:)
Love the scrappy binding. The gently used sheet on the back is perfect for it. Great idea to be POSITIVE today (as you are most of the time). I have a quilt or two of plus blocks made from about the same era. I haven't had time to sash them yet. Someday... Happy Saturday!
Pretty finish. Sure to bring a smile to its new owner.
Lovely finish, Cathy. It’s a happy, lively quilt. The simple line quilting is perfect!
That's a great finish, Cathy! I love all the colorful pluses and backgrounds. I think the way you quilted it is perfect for the design.
Love this finish! So many fun colors!
All the names are great - I like on the Plus side!! ha ha!
This is such a nice happy looking donation quilt, going to such a good cause, and will be much loved, I'm sure.
Aaaaaand now I want to make this block! This turned out so fun and happy. Perfect for donation!
Positively perfect quilt. Love how it all came together.
I really like this one - it is definitely going on my list!
