I made several of these large Churn Dash Variation blocks that finish at 13.5 inches in the last week or so.
I made two blocks last December after I found a pattern from McCall's quilting May/June 2010 designed by Julia LaBaune and Tammy Silvers. I often make a couple of blocks as the urge strikes so I don't forget that I really want to make something. I needed some color this past week so I picked it up again to work on. I'm using my 30s reproduction fabrics. I'm not following the pattern instructions because I have my own method of making HSTs. I guess the picture was the inspiration.
Well, anyhow I want to move this forward to a quilt top this month so I'm declaring this my May OMG (One Monthly Goal). I think I have 21 blocks and am working toward 36 blocks in a 6 x 6 layout plus I think I will add a border of gingham for one big quilt.

Love your large Churn Dash blocks. They will make a great quilt.
Nice large blocks; they get finished quickly! I'm making 4" churn dash blocks on and off at the moment and they're taking forever, S-L-O-W-L-Y.
Gorgeous, gorgeous fabrics! I had my churn dash kick last week. I LOVE churn dashes. I also do not follow instructions. Make it your own. Have a fabulous day!

Ooh, I like these blocks, Cathy! Such a large sized block you won’t need too many to make a quilt.
Terrific blocks, very cheerful and vintage looking.
Super cute blocks! Best of luck on attaining your OMG goals.
The reproduction fabrics re perfect for your Churn Dash blocks and they're a good size to work with.
So fun how the value changes make each block look a little different!
