I got into the orphan box (well, it's actually a bag) looking for a few orphan blocks to make a doll quilt. I didn't end up making a single doll quilt. I made three flimsies instead from orphans and parts. All measure roughly 40 x 60 and when finished will be donated. First I need to piece together some batting and find some backings.

Admit it, you never do "a little" of anything! They are all lovely.
Wow! I can't imagine having that many orphans! All are lovely, but the blue one is stunning.
I think this was definitely the better way to go! Great quilts and a reminder to all of us to dig out those orphan blocks and do them up.
Great quilts. I love the blue one.
Not sure of the word to describe you....... workaholic? ..... incorrigible?.... insomniac? ...... creative inventor? Perhaps they all ft. Just amazed at how you have rummaged around in a bag of orphan blocks and created three completely different cheerful quilts in no time at all! Marvellous.
So there you were, minding your own business, when you were suddenly overwhelmed by flimsies assembling themselves. (I swear, you could trip over a fat quarter and stand up with a completed quilt...)
Lovely orphans!
So much for the best laid plans! Love that blue one!
Oh I do like these three flimsies!! I'm now inspired to pull my parts box out, not for a few weeks though, and see what I can conjure up.
Fun quilts! These are for Sunshine, right? Three people will be VERY happy to receive these bright pieces :)
You have the most awesome orphans!!! Great way to use them.
Hey, you came up with some pretty amazing flimsies. I've got to make myself put my orphan blocks together. After the planning stage, it would go together so fast. And look what you did! You managed to piece together three whole quilt tops. Too fun!
I see the influence of the February Block Lotto -- but writ large! (Rather, sewn large.) All three are great.
Fun way to use up those orphan blocks--great idea!
