Blogger's Quilt Festival: Large Quilts

Bear Foot
82 x 98

Blocks finished at 14 inches. I used swapped four patches and then made HSTs in colors to match in each block. I used 2 inch sashing that just might pass for a bear foot.

I've seen this block also called Bear Paw but I believe that is actually a different block. (I'm no expert).

I quilted the whole darned thing on my plain Jane DSM...

...with leaves. (Yes, those are supposed to be leaves). After all...where does a bear poop?

Every single time you show one of your quilts I think "Oh! That's my favorite!"
Every single time.

Well, I gotta say this is gorgeous. I love the sashing. It makes the whole quilt sparkle. I can believe you quilted it on a DSM. Brilliant, a definite winner.

I really love this one! The prints and colours you chose are gorgeous. And of course your choice of leaves for the quilting - well, say no more, perfect!

What a wonderful and cheerful quilt, Cathy. I think my sister used your sashing in something. She has a more outdoors-themed style. Your color choices really pump it up. It's always fun to see how different people use the same fabric.
And we both quilt gigantic quilts on our DSMs. Glad I'm not the only crazy one.
Congratulations! Good luck.

LOVE IT!!! It's a beauty and a great accomplishment to have pieced AND quilted it yourself :)

This is wonderful! I think you're right, a Bear's Paw doesn't have a 4-patch in each paw! This is just darling!

Beautiful work and amazing quilting. I cannot believe you did that on your home machine. I couldn't help laughing about why you used the leaves quilting. So true. I hope you will win in the festival of quilt.
