It's a finish!
42 x 52.5
I made all the blocks in June. See the June blog post for details on the block.
I made this quilt to use up 4 inch width scraps and squares. Blocks finish at 10.5 inches.
There's lots of novelties in this one!
I quilted it on my sewing machine with horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines.
The backing is a floral.
I am now working on a scrappier and bigger version of this quilt using 4.5 inch width scraps and squares.
And sew on...

My oldest son and I cut a lot of scrub brush and fallen trees along the barbed wire fence that separates my cottage garden and our field of soy beans. The big mulberry tree branches fell several by years ago and I have been unable to cut them up myself. My little chain saw only cuts branches up to six inches in diameter. The fallen branches are still alive and have been leafing and branching out since they fell. Most of the scrub brush is honeysuckle. All of the mulberry and honeysuckle were shading a tree peony, a couple of roses and some oriental lilies and I was so afraid I might lose them after another year in all that shade. Oh I am so happy there is sunshine where once there was shade. And I do hope I don't have poison ivy now because I saw a big patch of it. So far no rash!
Tomorrow I think I will tackle the weeds that have popped up in the veg garden after all the recent rainfall.

Fun finish and hooray for help getting rid of that scrub brush and overgrown tree limbs. Fingers crossed for no rash!
Beautiful finish! My little backyard needs a facelift from Summer & a Fall makeover😄
Lovely finish on this novelty-loaded quilt, Cathy. What beautiful deep blues in this one!! Nice work hugs, Julierose
So hoping no poison ivy develops for either you or your son. So lovely to have him help clear the big branches and let the sun shine on your plants. I like both your version on the Finish version of this pattern. Shows how the internet makes the world more connected, doesn’t it?
This is such a pleasing quilt with wonderful contrast! Why are weeds so darn healthy?? Good luck with the clearing.
Fingers crossed on the poison ivy - I have had good luck with homeopathic poison ivy pills when I've had an exposure like this.
