Bramble Blooms II
I think I'm finished with the top now.
This is my second top in a series of what is to be three quilts.
For my applique border I chose to add wild roses in the four corners.
I made my own wild rose and leaf templates...
...and I made bias vines for the first time in my life.
I did needle turn applique.
And I added some embroidered details to the wild roses.
My first Bramble Bloom post is about the fabric piles for the series of three quilts and gives the reason why lime green and orange are the base colors in all three quilts. (Because I don't really like that color combo, believe it or not!)
In addition to the base of orange and lime green each quilt has fabrics added in another color. Bramble Blooms II has pink added.
And sew on...
CELEBRATE! (my word of the year)
Dec. 28 - Oh what beautiful weather for December! The temps were in the 50s so I went out and sowed my gifted wildflower seeds in my patch out front. The addition of those seeds filled in the patch nicely.

Oh, Brambles Blooms II is dancing with glorious colour. I love those fabrics together, especially the flowery border one. Love too, the wild rose applique around the corners. Using bias for the vines is always a fabulous idea. Well done on the needle turn applique; so lovely.
Bramble Blooms II is looking lovely.
You ended up going wild with the applique after not being sure how much you would add. It looks great.
You're putting a lot of time and effort in your Bramble Bloom quilts. It touches the ground so I figure this is a bed size quilt or close. I love orange and I like lime green but together, hmmm ... it's a different story. Yet, you made it work with the addition of pink. Well done! ;^)
Your Bramble Blooms 2 is simply a lovely piece, Cathy!! Great work on those vines and I really like the embroidered extras you've added...nice work Hugs for a Happy New Year...Julierose
Your rose applique and vines are simply gorgeous! Just beautiful!
I love your bramble blooms. I am looking forward to seeing the III in the series. Your box of fabrics were just perfect.
I love how your top turned out! I feel refreshed to do something like that to my BB2
I quite like this quilt. The roses climbing around the corners really finishes it. Very nice!
Beautiful!
Bramble Blooms is lovely! I've seen posts about this from time to time and each time I love what everyone has chosen to do. I've also loved all of Audrey's works and really hope I can carve out some space for trying to do some improv projects in 2025. Have a happy and scrappy New Year!
Those pink flowers are wonderful! I have been working on a last border for my BB#2. I thought it would be a wall quilt but then I pushed it a bit and was so happy with the extra width. I was stumped on this one for a while but I do love Audrey’s direction and ideas. Looking forward to another round soon.
What a happy quilt. It turned out great! The colors make me smile!

I absolutely adore your wild roses and vines/leaves. WELL DONE - your two tops are just wonderful. Can't wait to see how you handle #3 (when the time comes). Fingers cross ALL of your seeds grow well.
