Cherry Basket
That's the actual name of the quilt block and I made my blocks all in cheery cherry fabrics.
I've been big stitch hand quilting the blocks with red perle 8.
I've also finished the wild rose and leaf needle turn applique on the second corner of my Bramble Blooms II quilt. I was going to see how I liked just doing the applique in opposing corners before I went on to do all four corners. I've decided I need to put the wild roses in all four corners. And before all is said and done I will probably add a few appliqued butterflies.
Bramble Blooms is an improv-do-your-own-thing Quilt Along hosted by Audrey at Quilty Folk. This is my second quilt that will be a series of 3 quilts.
And sew on...

Oh, such pretty quilts!
Your cherry basket quilt is so pretty, Cathy! I bet it is a pleasure to quilt along on and enjoy those pretty prints. This is definitely the time of year for beautiful sunrises and sunsets!
Oooohhh, I love the cherry baskets. The rickrack really adds to the blocks. I love the bramble one as well.
Absolutely LOVE your BBII and those roses. I started BBI but then decided I would watch the rest of you instead (too many other things happening).
Your rose border is gorgeous! Can’t wait to see it finished.
My border appliqué was done, I thought …. But the quilt top said “Nooo, I want more leaves” so I will have to add some!
Oh I luv the cherry baskets! I'm doing the BB quilts as well & have to to get caught up before #3 gets here lol
Your Bramble Blooms quilt top is gorgeous, full of midsummer delightfulness!
The basket quilt is awesome! Such great colors. And the applique corners are finishing off this Bramble Blooms quilt spectacularly! Isn't it funny how quilts always want to demand more and more? They get us sucked in and then try to make us go the extra mile.:)
