I have so many UFOs I sometimes can't decide which to work on.
The day decided for me.
I have 54 patriotic Chunky Churn Dash blocks from a swap and 16 patriotic Twinkler orphan blocks.
So this morning before the grandkids woke up I started working on 70 patriotic Snowballs. They are awake now so I'll feed them and amuse them for awhile, work in the garden awhile, amuse them awhile and then hopefully get back to making Snowballs before the end of the day.
I'll alternate the Snowballs with the Chunky Churn Dashes and Twinklers and make a Quilt of Valor quilt to send to my Brother-in-law on Veteran's Day.
Today I'm remembering those who sacrificed their lives.
In November, on Veteran's Day,
I'll honor several family members who served and surprise them with quilts.

Those snowballs are the perfect thing to set off those stars and dashes. An excellent quilt!
I would say this was the perfect choice for today!! I too have many UFO's and isn't it terrible to have so many you can't choose between them. I'm slowly working through them though.
Here's to your 'speedy' finish!!
I really like the combination of those three blocks, very nice Cathy!
Isn't it great when sets of blocks, not made together, go together so well?
I'm remembering those who sacrificed for us today too. Great start on your blocks.
Nice work and even nicer motivation!
What a wonderfully thoughtful gift. Have fun with the grandkids. Hope you find time for more snowballs.
That will be fantastic!!!
I am in awe of your UFO stash...you always seem to be able to pull out such great quilts to work on!
I like this combination of blocks a lot. The red, white and blue is such a classic combination, full of symbolism.
