Which Way To The Chocolate?

Which Way to the Chocolate?
63 x 78

Machine pieced and hand quilted

I quilted with big stitching in a variety of threads from my stash -variegated brown perle #5 and perle #8, light brown 20 wt.

I didn't mark any quilting lines. I just eyeballed about 1/4 inch inside each geese and then stitched in the ditch around the sashing and then stitched lines about 1/4 inch away from each other inside the sashing.

I used a chocolaty brown muslin for the backing and it's kind of fun that you can see all of the stitching echoed on the back.

It's been cold in these here parts lately so I'm ready now to cover myself in chocolate!

I'm going over today to:

I love your quilt. Not normally a fan of brown but this presses all the buttons for me. It has such a welcoming, cosy look. Great stitching too.

I love this quilt. I'm not sure I could look at the chocolate all evening long and keep myself out of the fridge. How did you like quilting with the perle #5?? I am using it to backstitch embroider names on our Bicentennial Quilt. It looks nice on the front but is awful bulky on the back. Usually I use #8. I wanted it to show up well. But I'm wonderfing if I made a bad choice. Back to quilting with it ..... I bought a few too many skeins for the embroidery project, so how did you like hand quilting with the #5??

I LOVE it, yes I meant to scream that. I'm a big fan of flying geese, and evidently bigger flying geese are even better. I need to get out of my tiny rut. Your quilt could also be passed off as over achievement over at RSC2016; Feb is brown with pink accents.
