It's a finish!
Monkey Wrench
34 x 45
Several years ago I made Monkey Wrench blocks from scraps in three different sizes as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge (RSC) project. I was able to make a lot of comfort quilts with the blocks. Some are still in the To Be Quilted (TBQ) pile.
These 10 inch blocks were the blocks left over that didn't really fit in with any of the other quilts so I put them in the orphanage. Well, this month I have been digging through all the bits and pieces of this and that for odds and ends to use in small quilts for Wrap-A-Smile and I came upon these Monkey Wrench blocks.
I wasn't sure how to make ice cream, Christmas ornaments, owls, zig zags, stripes and polka dots in many different colors play nicely together but finally decided maybe a bright multicolored sashings might do the trick. I also added some cornerstones and binding full of sunshine.
I used a couple of colorful pieces on back.
And sew on...

Bravo, Cathy. Another wonderful, colourful, lovely quilt finished and loads of scraps put to good use. Love the back too. Enjoy! ;^)
Another scrappy beauty, Cathy;)) Love the white (ish) scattered about on these--nice work finishing. You are on a roll for sure;))

So many things to see in the fabrics. . .someone is going to have fun finding and identifying all the different motifs!
Always creative use of scraps. Well done! :-)
I think you made these blocks play WELL together! You are going to have a large box to mail to WAS. Bet one of those vacuum suction bags would come in handy…LOL! Hugs, Beth in AL
The sashing, cornerstones, and binding are perfect to tie these blocks together, Cathy! A fun finish!
You always seem to know how to make things work and God has been so gracious to give you friends to help supply your needs. It looks great!
