I have a lot of 4.5 inch low volume squares and I have quite a few scrap chunks of pastels so decided dto make some Plus Blocks that finish at 9.5 inches.
I'm not sure of the layout right now or what size quilt I'm making.
Above is how the blocks look straight set.
Above is how the blocks look offset.
Above is how the blocks look on point.
They all look pretty busy but I think I like the offset layout the best.
Right now I have 15 blocks.
And sew on...

I have a bad case of poison ivy all over my arms. I was weeding a new spot I've cleared and didn't see the poison ivy until it was too late. I did come in and wash with Tecnu Poison Ivy wash but it looks like my bottle of it has expired so maybe it was not as effective. I have a very painful (as in can hardly walk) arthritis flare up in my left foot. I am pretty sure the flare up is because I had a couple of sugary drinks. I usually drink water or iced tea during the day but decided to try some Sanpellegrino lemonade. I guess I will give away the other four cans. And so I haven't felt much like sewing or gardening. I have mostly been reading the last few days.
After I finished the Gary Gerlacher medical thriller series I decided to look for more medical thrillers for Kindle and came across medical thrillers by Gary Birken featuring Madison Shaw and Jack Wyatt. I finished Error in Diagnosis. "A mysterious illness with disturbing symptoms is plaguing pregnant women." And now I've started the second book in the series.

I'm so sorry to hear you were attacked by poison ivy. Golden Bond, Absorbine Jr. or an oat soak could all alleviate the pain and itching.
As for the arthritis, some heat and rest.
Love your low volume blocks. I like the offset layout. Take care. ;^)
sorry your not feeling that great hope it all clears up soon
LOVE low volume quilts. Bummed you aren't feeling that great. Poison ivy stinks! Hope you're up and at 'em soon.
What sweet low volume blocks you have sewn!
PI is the PITS!! Sorry you have it. Hope it fades quickly.

Poison Ivy sounds really nasty, luckily we dont have it here. I hope the pain eases quickly for you. As you havent felt lime sewing or gardening, itvshows how miserable you were feeling. Those soft plus blocks are so pretty.
I've had two close encounters with poison ivy in the past two weeks. Fortunately, I spied them both in time. I hope you are on the road to recover. Like old age, gardening is not for sissies.

I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there.
Thank you for the book recommendations. I've downloaded both series.
I like the straight layout because it shows the plus pattern better with the busy fabrics. This will be a lovely quilt! Feel better soon.
I am so sorry to hear that the poison ivy and your drink got in your way of gardening, but it sounds like you liked the books. I do hope you get better quickly. I do have a question for you. I am trying to finish up my feather bed quilt. I have 31 feathers done completely and only need 38 more for a king size quilt. I had set it aside and just got back to it. They are coming out to the right size. Just a tad off and I was wondering if you had to fudge a bit or is it just me?
I like the offset layout the best but I would add a tiny bit more color to the plus blocks. I've never had poison ivy but there are gloves you can wear to protect yourself. Arthritis sucks but I've never heard that sugar can cause a flare up.
