I am participating in the 2025 Stay At Home Round Robin (SAHRR).
I am going to use the weekly prompts to make 5 kiddo sized row quilts.
The prompt this week -Add Star(s)
Since the center border print had dogs and flowers I wanted to add in some dogs since I already have added lots of flowers. Someone had given me a four inch width print with dogs that I used as the center for some Friendship Stars. A few of these quilts are 42.5 inches in width and a few are 40.5 inches in width. I thought this one was 42.5 inches and so made rows for top and bottom of the quilt with four 10.5 inch blocks. BUT when I went to add the rows to the quilt I realized my mistake, darn it! This quilt is 40.5 inches in width.
So the rows now only have three blocks plus some rectangles on the ends to add width. And, yes, I meant to have the Friendship Stars twirling different directions. I think the rows probably would have looked better with the added rectangles added like sashing between the Stars but I was feeling too lazy to rip apart all the Stars in both rows.
So now this quilt is 56 inches long so I think I'm finished with this top.
I have some other bits and pieces of dog prints set aside with the two extra Frienship Star blocks. Now I think I'll make a few more Friendship Star blocks for another kiddo comfort quilt.
And I have these pieces I think I can use to piece a backing for my row quilt.
The Elephants quilt is one that is 42.5 inches wide.
It got a row of six inch finished Friendship Stars.
My Basket quilt made with 30s reproduction scraps...
...got some scrappy 8 inch finished Sawtooth Stars rows on bottom...
...and on top.

Finished another book! -The Briar Club by Kate Quinn. Life in the 50s of some folks who live in a boarding house. Some of the characters are based on real people. I really enjoyed the book - it was one I didn't want to put down. I've enjoyed others by Kate Quinn - The Rose Code, The Alice Network and The Huntress.

I'm not sure if I read that one, I read most of hers that I can find. You finish so many tops! do you have a lot to quilt wait in line?
Wow, so many pretty quilts. They all are beautiful.
So many pretty quilts, Cathy; i love that elephant print...we only got about 1" of snow which has been washed away with the rain that came after...don't know if things will freeze overnight now though...

Love the quilts! Kate Quinn is Ahhhhhmazing! Alice is my favorite so far. My parents were adults in WW2 outside Rotterdam. The stories are beyond awful. I cannot remotely imagine being in the Alice Network and I so admire women who were strong loving and caring of their neighbors doing this work without concern for themselves. I encourage all your readers to read at least this book!
Love the doggy Friendship Stars. The rectangles act as bookends in my mind. Perfect prints for the backing too. One down! The elephant one is awesome, all in black and greys. Very teenagers. I guess the third one must be close to being big enough too. It's lovely. But my favourites are the last two, because you know ... boys! That flame print in the stars is so perfect. It will be so loved by someone. Great job! Enjoy! ;^)
