Two Churn Dash Tops
Each is 40.5 x 63
The Churn Dash blocks are large - they finish at 13.5 inches.
They were made from quite a wide variety of scrap chunks 5 inches wide or so.
In order to make them at least 60 inches long I added a border to the top and bottom made from 2 inch strips. One of the places I send donation quilts likes quilts approximately 40 x 60.
My December OMG (One Monthly Goal) was to complete at least one top from a large box of complete block sets. These are tops #2 and #3. Top #1 has already been finished and donated.

Love the cheerful, bright colors and how you grouped them. Wonderful tops.
I made a churn dash quilt using children's picture book characters as the center square. It was made for the grandson of one of my library staff who did children's story hours. It was really cute, but drove me nuts sewing the blocks together because the seams of the HSTs in the corners didn't nest. I can't wait to see how many quilts you finished this year.

Both tops are great. Although they are made from scraps and each blocks is made from different colours and fabric, the finished tops look “planned”. I love the purple block amongst the mainly blues and greens in the left hand top.
Lovely quilts--I especially like those vibrant blues in the left one
(first pix)..great fabric pairings Cathy

Okay - these sized churn dashes really work for me (not such fiddly little pieces). GREAT composition for the tops - fun, scrappy, colorful - and I think your top and bottom borders add a lot!
These quilt tops are SEW joyful, Cathy!! They just made me smile. I imagine their recipients will feel the same.
I really like the top and bottom border treatments! Nice way to add some length to these bright and happy blocks.
