Geese in the Roses
60 x 69
It's a flimsy!
I have been working on two different Rose quilts made from scraps; however, I also felt like digging into the yardage to make more scraps. So this quilt top happened before the two scrap quilts happened.
I have to say my inspiration was a Flying Geese quilt at Stitched in Color. I found it while researching different Flying Geese quilts. I kept a picture of her quilt in front of me while I was making my Flying Geese. That way I didn't have to decide a layout later on, didn't have to think too much, could just sew, knew the number of Flying Geese required, and no design wall/floor and constant arranging and rearranging of Flying Geese required.
I do love roses.
Yes, I do love roses.

I really like this one! I have always been drawn to flying geese and set like this is so cool!
Very nice! I'm doing the same thing with that pattern. I decided after I bought it that I would change it up a little.
This is so lovely with all the rose fabrics--I am working on my own Flying Geese and was inspired by the same "Stitched in Color" posting...
Beautiful finish..hugs from afar Julierose
Looks great, Kathy, and you have such a great eye for color - I love those bright aquas in amongst the warmer pinks and reds and browns. Really nice!
Looks really great! You should know that I love pink roses (all over my house!), and I also love flying geese. A few years ago, I made a wall hanging in red and green, all flying geese, and named it Flying Home for Christmas. I love it too. ---"Love"
Good gracious- a flimsy on Wednesday, another flimsy on Thursday and yet another flimsy on Friday. All gorgeous. Another idea for me to squirrel away. I think I’m running out of storage areas in my brain! 😉
Your quilt turned out lovely! I've also been admiring the geese quilts on Stitched in Color. Thanks for more inspiration, happy stitching!
Perfect - just perfect. I love how you use your many different rose fabrics.
Three rose quilts, yes you do really love Rose's! And obviously have such a lot of rosey fabric pieces to work your magic with.
Looking great! I too have been following along with Rachel's geese QAL, she has shared some wonderful tips for making these.
What a fun Flying Geese layout! I'm so attracted to geese, and this one really makes me drool!
Congrats on completing another rose-y quilt top. It's SEW lovely!!
I marvel at how prolific you are. All your quilts are gorgeous.
Beautiful rose themed fabrics! Love flying geese!
Beautiful! Flying roses! I'm toying with the idea of a Flying Geese quilt too, but first I am resolved to finish some (or all my) UFO's.
That is so pretty with all the rose fabrics! I like the way the geese are flying in different directions!
Hi Cathy, that is a really lovely flimsy. Take care.
I love your Rosy Geese! (And I'm pretty sure that goose poop is good fertilizer for roses, so excellent combination!)
I like the different lengths of geese -- just enough to keep it interesting. Nice!
I have been inspired by her flying geese as well. You did a good job. Maybe I can start cutting one out for the near future?
Beautiful it is so colorful!
Love the sky blues with the rose prints! Beautiful combination :)
I love a good geese quilt but this one is better than good. Love it!:)
