In Search of a Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

No...no, butterflies here in the...

...Tithonia.

No, no butterflies in the Datura (darned weed).

I rarely see butterflies in the pansies.

No, no butterflies here unless that white thing in the spider's web is a butterfly part.  I've seen monarchs in the Gomphrena from time to time but not this time, of course.  Note to self...cut and hang the Gomphrena to dry.

No, no butterflies in the brussel sprouts and none of those darned cabbage worm moths in there either, thank goodness.

No, no butterflies in the impatiens.

Aha! What do I spy on the butterfly weed?

Are two butterflies considered a kaleidoscope of butterflies?

Inside I spy a kaleidoscope of butterflies on the wall. Sad, but true...this is the only butterfly or kaleidoscope sewing I did in September.

I'm out of town right now.
Hopefully I'll be back soon sewing up some butterflies and kaleidoscopes in October. Will you?

You have a beautiful garden with lots of wonderful flowers. Love the spider shot!

Your flower garden must be wonderful. As fall is setting in those last glimpses of beautiful blooms sure mean a lot knowing they are on their way out too.

Well the flowers looked good even if they lacked butterflies.
Good thing you had that butterfly weed, though, eh? It would be sad if that had let you down...

I love the way those butterfly blocks are made, so simple, but perfect for the suggestion of a butterfly! Hope your husband is doing well.

We have had more butterflies (and hummingbirds) this summer than ever before. I've made notes of the annuals we planted to see if it will happen again next summer.

Thanks for sharing your photos/story, I like your butterflies on the wall. You got more done than I did. I'm out of town helping with grand daughters, keeps me running!

I recall that this may have to do with your husband's surgery and I'm sending prayers for you both.

We've hardly seen any butterflies this summer, even on the plants they usually love. I'm thinking of trying something like your little blocks as a substitute for the real thing. Hope it's all going okay.

Lovely flowers from your garden, even though you say some of them are weeds. I have always loved Datura, especially a soft apricot one which I one spotted in a garden. Hope things went well for your husband.

I hope things are going well for you and your husband right now. Hopefully you are past the worst part!

Beautiful set of photos, even if the butterflies were shy!
