Singing The Blues With A Top

It's a top!
Singing The Blues
54 x 72

A big star center with a musical themed collage...

...and blue charms (5 inch squares) accumulated over time from others...

...make a nice comfort quilt.

And sewing those charms together randomly is nice mindless sewing for when I just want to listen to those marbles rolling around in my head and for a rainy day when little Cathy wants to play.

Hmmm...there sure seems to be a lot of Elephant butts in there. I didn't realize when sorting or sewing squares. I forgot to tell myself  "no ifs, ands, or butts"

And sew on...

****

When it is not raining I'm usually in the gardens more than the sewing room.

Basket Flower

Coreopsis

Rose

Sugar Snap peas

Roses

Clematis

Martagon Lilies

Daylily

Lilies

Rose

Penstemon (Beardtongue)

And sow on...

Your blue charms have given me an idea . . . LOL re: the butts. I try to avoid eyes in charm patches.

I have used several elephant prints and it is HARD not to get elephant butts. Your blue top is wonderful!

I love your garden tours. I don't have Penstemon any more. i transplanted some in the back garden a couple years ago but it didn't come up in the spring.

Thanks for the laughter, I needed that one. No ifs and or butts just cracked me up. I really like how your blues turned out and I might copy that. Thanks for the inspiration, again. Lovely garden. Enjoy it!

Beautiful flowers! And another scrappy quilt inspiration! I can see this working with so many colors. And now I’ll have “Well I never felt more like singing the blues” in my head all day!

Oh gosh! You can’t go wrong with blue! It’s peace for the eyes. I love all your quilts, garden photos, book reviews, and news. Thank you, and stay well. I hope the itching subsides soon.

A belated Happy Anniversary. Love all the flower pictures. We're a bit behind you and I don't have nearly as much variety as you do.

As I was tight for time right now I've scrolled down to see your Singing The Blues quilt, this makes me long for the summer skies, beautiful quilt. Then there is more to see from your garden, I can almost taste the Sugar Snap peas and you know how much I love your flowers, never seen a white Penstemon before so this is a first for me. I can just imagine taking a walk through your garden, would be like visiting a wonderland Cathy.
