It's ATop!

It's a top!
40 x 52

This quilt started with some fabulous Basket blocks I was given.

I added a few borders with Flying Geese and Wonky Windmills.

It will get quilted and donated in 2026.

And sew on...

Oh joy! I received a big box of goodies from Diana! I had fun unpacking it all!

I just discovered that there are a lot of quilt books available with a Kindle Unlimited subscription. I have browsed through several and so far not single quilt has gone on my "want to make" list. Actually I have found I prefer to make traditional blocks from actual scraps until I have enough for a quilt. That process may span a few years because sometimes I have to wait for scraps to happen. I also love to look at vintage quilts, find one I love and then make my version.

We are supposed to have high winds today with gusts up to 49 miles per hour. Then we are supposed to have snow later in the week. I am not fond of that kind of weather. I am glad I am retired and don't have to venture out. Guess I will have to make myself a cup of hot chocolate and browse through all the black Friday seed sales and seed catalogs I have received in order to get my gardening fix.

Those improve baskets all came together so well, Cathy--you have that "eye" for putting items together so well...;)))
No black Friday for me either--it'll be a day of R&R after our gathering...
I was able to put the last line of quilting on "Sunrise, Sunset" last night--Yahoo:000

That is such a pretty quilt I'm sure any little girl would love.
As for the wind, I'm sitting here listening to the wind howling. Glad I don't have to go out today.
Thanks for all that you share. I find more ideas for quilts from your blog.

Guess what? I love this top too! It speaks of summer to me with all the baskets ready for strawberries picking. Who needs quilting books when we have a blog like yours, full of inspirational fun quilts. Stay warm. ;^)

I love it! I am always impressed with your gift for taking random scraps and making something beautiful from them. This is no exception. I also appreciate the information you share about how each quilt became its own beauty. Happy Thanksgiving.

I really enjoy seeing what you put together, especially the "orphans". The baskets were a nice gift. My local library is doing better with acquiring more current quilt books, so I've been checking them out. I have a few on my kindle, but they are older. And a bookshelf full of others I seldom read! The advent of quilting blogs has really changed my reading.
