Happy Blocks
Aka Framed Squares
with flowers
8.5 inch finished
I now have reached my goal of 63 blocks. I have been making blocks off and on for over a year with floral scraps.
I emptied out the big shoe box with block centers and floral scrap chunks for the frames. The complete block set will now go into my SAR (Some Assembly Required) bin.
And sew on...

Once again I had to replace my husband's G-tube. Thank goodness it was not as traumatic an event for me as the first time! I am really not nurse material!

We are still having beautiful weather. I dug more potatoes and carrots and stopped to smell the roses.

Way to go for emptying a bin AND reaching your goal of 63 blocks! These are certainly happy blocks!
Great use for these pretty floral blocks, Cathy!! ;)) Nice work...
Hugs, Julierose
Lovely use of floral scraps. They will make a beautiful quilt some day.
Goodness, I hear you about not being nurse material but we do what we have to, right? Love your floral blocks.
Oops! Anonymous is me :-(
What a fabulous way to use those florals!!! I love them
Floral really works in these Happy Blocks. I've only done them with novelty prints, but may have to give them a try with other prints.
I would hate to be responsible for medical care on another person - just keep telling yourself that you have got it.
I started to send you a note yesterday to ask how he was doing and I got sidetracked. I'm glad you heard my thoughts! LOL I am not nurse material either, but it is surprising what we can do if we have to. I'm glad you were able to do it and harvest some carrots and potatoes and even smell the roses. And on top of that, you made a bunch of blocks that look like a field of flowers!
I am late to the comments party, but I wanted to tell you that I think you are very brave. Yes, you are doing something absolutely necessary, but I still think you are brave, and you must be proud of yourself!. I am very squeamish and am appalled at the idea of doing this procedure. I also wanted to say that I think your blocks are really beautiful and are going to make a lovely quilt.
