Last year I made two tops from some crumb blocks a nice lady named Katie sent me. 

Actually, these are more like what I call "slabs". My crumb blocks consist of very small irregular shaped pieces. Whatever you call them, or whatever I call them...there are lots of fun fabrics to look at in the blocks.   

All I had to do was add some striped sashing and top and bottom borders. 

Oh, and I had to quilt it. 

The backing is a mottled blue and the binding is scrappy blues. 

And sew on...

Funny thing...

On my last blog post I said, "I was thinking of making some herb bread to go with because I see a lot of chives in the herb garden but not sure I'l get that far. I've been quilting on small quilts in the mornings and gardening in the afternoons so I am rather tired when it comes time to make dinner. "

Last time I went to the grocery store I bought a little bag of Dove dark chocolates and I munch on a couple every other day or so. The Dove wrappers have little sayings or words of advice in them. The two I unwrapped that day I blogged about being a little tired had advice about energy and I've never ever seen those sayings before on the wrappers. 

"Own your main character energy." and "Your energy is expensive! Spend it wisely."

Like I said...funny thing...well, such timely and good advice from a candy wrapper!  I do think I own it and I do think I'm spending it wisely....I've been gardening, reading and quilting and I haven't been using much of that expensive energy on housework!
