String Stars
12 inch finished blocks
"Strings and Things" has been the theme in my sewing space this month to move UFOs and scraps forward. I started making these String Stars last year to use the shortest and skinniest of strings left after using longer and wider strings in other quilts. Now that I have finished these 5 Stars I have my goal of 12 and need to go make some wild and crazy sashing to go with them.
And sew on...

What a beauty this will be! I can see crumb pieced sashing strips full of happy colors like your strings. Oh, yes!
Lovely on that dark blue background...nice work hugs, Julierose
What a joyous way to use up skinny strips. The deep blue background really lets the stars shine.
Very pretty, and I love the background colour.
This is a fun way to use scraps, it's going to be a beautiful quilt!
The stars are grand. (And I see a couple of prints that I sent you.) BTW, if you think you have a ton of scraps-in-big-bags, check Bonnie Hunter's post today.
Sparkling stars Cathy - the suggestion from Julie would work beautifully.
Loving these string stars. How big are the blocks? Look forward to seeing your wild & crazy sashing.
I have been thinking of making a string star quilt and now seeing yours I just may pull the trigger on that project. Your blocks are gorgeous!
Love the blocks and now you have me excited to see your wild and crazy sashing!
Your strings stars are so bright and cheery against that blue background. I love string projects!
