Orphan Ursula
She's finished and is ready for some lovin'!
40 x 60
For this quilt I picked out some 12 inch finished orphan blocks I have received from other folks. I don't have a design wall and usually with this type of orphan block quilt I just sew blocks together randomly into columns after I pick out the blocks. When I hung this quilt out for photos I had to smile when I noticed the house block with birds on top of that block split by a neutral bar in the middle. It ended up looking like a bird house on a stake in the middle of a garden. It was meant to be!
I quilted it on my sewing machine with swirls of white.
There's some llamas on back and the binding is scrappy and came out of the leftover binding box.
And sew on...

Isn't it amazing how other people's orphans can go together this well?
What fun that it turned out like this!! You are a champion with the orphan blocks for sure!! Hugs, Julierose
It's funny you mentioned the birdhouse because I thought it was how the block was made when you received it. Yep, it was meant to be. And another one off the list. Enjoy! ;^)
Hurray for serendipity. If you had planned the birdhouse block, it probably wouldn't have come out right.
