Ice Cream Cones
It's a flimsy!
60 x 80
I was inspired by Cynthia's (Quilting is More Fun than Housework) Summer Treat quilt. I thought it would be fun to go through my fabrics in search of cone and ice cream possibilities. Oh, joy! I had some chocolate chip fabric and fabric with scoops of different flavors of ice creams. I also found rainbow sherbet, lime sherbet with raspberry ripples, strawberry, chocolate and many other flavors.
The alternate block was a ten inch Happy Block with ice cream cone centers.
I used the trimmings from the "ice cream" corners (and then some) as sprinkles in the corners of the blocks.
The background is peach ice cream.
That was a fun exercise. I think it will make a fun donation quilt.
With the left over scraps I made some Sixteen Patches for my pile.

What a fun quilt! Mmmm, just imaginging strawberry or Oreo-cookie ice cream. Great job, even with the sprinkles corners. Sandy at sewhigh.blogspot.com
What a clever idea!!! I love it! I just may have to make one of those, maybe next Spring, to be ready for summer. ---"Love"

Wow, that was fast! (Well, I guess you have to move pretty fast with ice cream...)
Love it and your sweet 16s as well!
OMG!!! That is SEW super cute!!! The sprinkles add an extra touch of whimsy. LOVE that you have already used the scraps from this scrap quilt to make some 16-Patch blocks!

Your ice cream fabrics are delicious! Love the bright happy quilt, a definite winner. The quote is great, not seen that one before.
This is my kind of quilt. No tiny pieces! LOL I always love to see your creativity. I also noticed that you sneaked in scrap triangles in the corners. Love it.
welcome back -yummy ice cream quilt
Really love the quilt. The ice cream cones are delicious and the background remind me of strawberry. Thinking of making one for my granddaughter for next summer!
It's sweet and refreshing! Very fun, especially the sprinkles in the corners. Will this be a FQ Challenge donation?
Welcome back! Hope the camping trip was a good break and reunion for all. I like the cheerful ice cream cones. And good for you to immediately sew up the scraps.
Delicious and of what fun.
Some-body has been in MY stash! Love it.
What a fabulous quilt! I love it! And scraps already used? You are rocking it!
What a fun finish, and I LOVE your title "Enjoy it Before it Melts!" I recognize one of the fabrics you've used, the one that is all ice cream scoops piled one on top of the next. I bought several yards of that however many years ago and have not known what to do with it. This quilt is going to put a smile on somebody's face, for sure!
This is so fun! I really want to make an ice cream cone quilt! Will you share what size you used for the scoops? I'm thinking maybe I can use some of food 5" charm squares for ice cream.
What a fun and colorful quilt! Someone will really enjoy it receiving it.
That is so cute, Cathy! I love the ice cream cones, and then the alternate block centers, too. Fun that you had that fabric in your stash!
Very fun finish Cathy. I enjoyed finding the perfect ice cream fabric when I made my quilt too. I really want to make another one.
