It's Finished!
56 Shades of Envy
84 x 96
I started making these 12 Dandy Quilt blocks way back in 2014 when green was the color of the month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I then made more this year in May when green was the color of the month for the 2015 Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I found I had a lot of small green scrap chunks so stars were born. I figured 56 Shades of Envy was a better name for the quilt than Spewing Green Chunks.
I arranged them from the lightest up in the upper left corner...
...to the darkest in the lower right corner.
There were lots of shades in between.
Most of the blocks look like this.
But in a few blocks I didn't have quite enough of the green chunk so the star is all made in the background fabric.
I quilted it on my DSM with straight and diagonal lines. I used variegated green thread on top and light green thread on the bottom. I had to do some quilting in the ditch and I really don't see well enough to stay in the ditch but I try.
The back is a wide dark green solid. The binding is made of more green scraps.
I listed this as my #5 -Q4 2015 Finish Along Goal with Adrianne of On the Windy Side.
Take another UFO off the list!

I'm so glad you didn't end up calling it 'spewing green chunks'! It's a much prettier quilt than that! Love the variations of green and the energy in this quilt.:)
Woohoo!!! What a great quilt from scraps. Hoorah for UFO finishes. :D
Great green quilt. Love the contrast with the light fabrics.
Oh, good. This means there's still a chance you'll make a quilt called 'Spewing Green Chunks'! What fun!
Love all the green, spewed or not.
Lovely finish--hugs, Julierose
Another big beautiful quilt for you to be proud of, and I think the name is very clever, too. I love to see all the close up shots to enjoy the 56 shades of green. Good quilting, too!
It is WONDERFUL !!! Love your comment about the name choice.
I remember when you started this one! Oh that is a lot of one of my favorite colors! Looks fantastic!
This is a gorgeous quilt and every time you've shown some of these blocks I said, "I need to make a quilt using these". Now the finished quilt has convinced me that I do, indeed, NEED to make a quilt. Add one more item to my 'to do' list.
Super quilt and what a super title!
Umm Umm - I just love it!!! I like how you keep working on the different blocks and then Ta da! Its' finished ;-)
I am not usually a fan of green but I am definitely a fan of this quilt. Lovely!
What a fabulous quilt, well done with the quilting too.
That looks lovely! I remember you making those stars last year. Interesting to see how its all come together. Good on you for quilting it on your DSM - its a big quilt.
What a beautiful finish !! Love it!
Lovely! My favourite colour, so I really like this a lot, and like how you have balanced the colours out over the quilt. On balance you probably chose the better title :-)
OMG... it's amazing!
Love both quilt names! LOL
This quilt is so wonderful!
