I decided this month to work on my Gum Wrapper Chain quilt I started way back in 2022. It fits the theme "itty bits, fiddly bits" in my sewing space this month to move UFOs forward.
It was originally inspired by a postage stamp quilt I saw at the Q Is For Quilter blog.
Well, I finished my first of six "panels" - 9.5 x 72 inches unfinished.
Then I started on the other five panels that I need. When all six panels are sewn together it will make for a quilt around 54 x 72 inches.
And sew on...

I really shouldn't open my ph before coffee!,I thought you were going to show us how to make the gum wrapper we use to make with gum wrappers way back in the day 🤣 what a cute name for this quilt,its looking amazing!

WOW--this is amazing, Cathy!! I used to do postage stamps back in the day, too. I still like working with squares...great setting on this ; I checked "Q is for Quilting"'s pix--really neat..thanks for sharing hugs, Julierose
I like the black/white edges to contain the scrappy squares. Bonnie Hunter published this pattern--I think it made it into one of her books. I made a smaller version (same size squares but shorter rows) some years ago. What I learned was that those edge triangles need to be QSTs -- I used HSTs and even with those small pieces there was bias to ease in.
A nice project. Such tiny squares. I have made one similar to this - my columns were not quite as wide.
