What's in the hoop?
Carpenter Star
I've been big stitch hand quilting it.
Back in November 2021 I made one Before-I-Forget block as a reminder of what I wanted to do with a pile of 30s reproduction scraps.
And now mostly what I have left to hand quilt is something in the white space around the blocks. I found a simple stencil in my collection I think I will use.
And sew on...

Oh what beautiful weather we have been having! I've been spending as much time as I can out working in my gardens.

Oh joy! In the last week or so I received two boxes of fabric and scraps from Teresa and a box of quite an interesting and eclectic variety of scraps from Sandi. I just love sorting through scraps!

Your Carpenter's star is just amazing, Cathy--so lovely. It will be even more beautiful when quilted. Lovely work hugs, Julierose
What a lovely scrappy quilt and you get to admire all those pretty fabrics as you hand quilt it. Perfect! Gail at the cozy quilter.
This is a gorgeous heirloom keeper!! Happy to see you appear to be feeling better.
FUN! Hand quilting and scrap diving into boxes :-)
Have fun hand quilting this beautiful quilt, Cathy. Love it.
Oh, dang, that’s cute!!!!! Love those fabrics and happy colors. You go, Girl! —NancyO.
These colors are so lovely in the quilt, this is just a happy quilt! The stencil design is perfect for the white squares, happy quilting!
I've not seen this block before. Delightful. These 30s prints always remind me of the quilts we inherited from my grandmother. We loved them to death - a good use for quilts.
