I don't cut strings. If I cut a strip off of yardage I call that piece a strip, not a string. My strings come from trimming quilt backs or from the very end of a piece of fabric that is less than 1.5 inches. Or it may be the leftover end of a strip. I consider selvages a type of string.
Here's some quilts I have made from strings. I have not included quilts made from strips. In other words I don't usually cut anything from yardage to make the string part of these quilts. I just use the string scraps as they are.

Yowzers! What a great variety of string quilts! I especially like the feathers and the stars with the dark background. Was there ever a time in your life when you weren't quilting?
Love your string quilts!!!!
These string quilts are inspiring! I particularly like the polka dot consistent strip quilts. I made a spiderweb quilt that was inspired by your blog. Thank you!
You might realize from seeing my different posts that I just found your headings on your blog. I have fallen into a deep rabbit hole. I love everything you make. I think most of these string quilts are my favorite! LOL I really, really want to make a feather one. I love your color pallete in that one too.
