It's a top!
Economy Blocks
42x 48
I started making these blocks some time ago to use up some mostly pink and blue floral pieces that have come my way. Those were used as the side pieces that were 4 inch squares cut on diagonal.
The center Four Patches were made of scraps from the 2.5 inch width box.
And sew on...

Yesterday the neighbor to the south texted my husband to say that a mountain lion had been spotted between our property and the archery range about half mile further south. All of our properties have wooded areas. Mountain Lions are a rare sighting in Iowa. While I was out working in the gardens yesterday every little noise made me jump!

the quilt top is beautiful!, I'd be jumpy too knowing that a mountain lion could be close by, stay safe!
Oh I can see why you were a bit nervy with that mountain lion sighting in your area...we saw two bobcats stroll across our back lawn yesterday--male and female...we wondered why our normal turkeys hadn't come to visit!!
Lovely quilt flimsy--I like those colors together a lot...nice work

Part of me says "EEK!" about the mountain lion. That's followed soon by wondering how long before someone shoots it on sight or it gets hit by a car. One of those is the usual fate of any that wander into Iowa.
Pretty quilt top!
Would you believe we get them in the city? They come down from the hills north of town! Stay safe girl :-)
Your SAR month is really coming along! A mountain lion? How cool!
Goodness, a mountain lion roaming close by, that's scary.
I can understand being jumpy - I have not heard of any sightings here in my area of Arkansas but not far away people have seen them and black bear too. I have never seen a bear here but one time about 4 years or so ago I was walking on the property and just felt like something was following me and I turned a big brown stray dog was - it stopped when I stopped and just looked pitiful not mean in the least. But I ignored it and it followed for awhile and then left - it can make you jumpy though.
I really like how those blocks came together. You're such an inspiration. I'm starting to put my featherbed blocks together. I went for king size. Oh my! Mountain Lion! I would probably be freaking out! I hope it goes back where it belongs.
