CELEBRATE! (my word of the year) -

Feb. 7 - Physical therapist who comes to the house once a week is pleased with hubby's progress. His core strength has greatly improved and he is able to do a wider range of exercises. Maybe in a few months he will be able to use a cane (or nothing???) instead of a walker.   He is also finally gaining some weight and his gtube stoma is finally healing.  Celebrating forward progress.

Feb. 8 (today) - 8am appointment with my dentist and dental hygenist. All is well! If I was a kid I suppose I'd get a smiley face sticker. I'll be 72 next month and I still have all my own teeth except for a partially false front tooth that chipped off when I was 14 and someone pushed my head into a drinking fountain at school.

I looked up the pattern for those stars and printed it out. Great news on the medical front- it has to be so hard and long to keep working at it.

Awesome news regarding your hubby's health struggle. Being able to do a wider range of exercises might mean a faster pace toward his goal. I'm happy for both of you. Take care! ;^)

I do love those Dandy Stars! (I'm not going to start another quilt) (I'm not going to start another quilt) (It couldn't hurt to just make one block, right?)

Good to hear that your hubby is improving so much. Caring for someone who is so ill has to be so hard on you, both physically and mentally, not to mention having to hold down the fort by yourself. BTW how is your son doing?

That has to be a huge relief that your husband is gaining back some weight and doing well otherwise. I'm sure he is pretty happy about it too.

Another pretty and tempting block! Two good reasons to celebrate! So glad your DH is doing better and that all went well at your dentist.

Are we sisters? I am 65 this year and still have the tooth that was capped when I was 16 - the result of a boy banging my recorder into my mouth as I practiced a tune walking home from primary school. I was about 9 years old. I'm always afraid it will break off and for that reason have never bitten down hard on my front teeth! Biting into a crunchy apple is very, very, distant memory!
