12 inch finished The Dandy quilt blocks.
I have only ten more blocks to go. After these blocks I think most of my patriotic fabric will be used up and I'll be left with a lot of smaller scraps. I'm also using red and blue plaids and homespuns and a few other miscellaneous red and blue fabrics. I think this will be a Quilt of Valor someday.

your blocks are awesome and will make a great QOV. I love stars will points that float...thanks for the link!
These will make a great QOV quilt! The block pattern may end up being just the ticket for a fabric donation of fairly small pieces of a lot of traditional/civil war repro fabrics we just received at our quilt ministry. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love these blocks. Great use of your fabrics.
Great plain and patriotic combo of fabrics in these blocks, Cathy!! Nice deep rich colors--Hugs, Julierose
I love these blocks so much! I've been trying to resist making them, but my resistance is crumbling...
I love your quilt top! It’s so pretty. Hugs,
These blocks are great and I love the scrappy look.
I really like this block design although I've never heard of it before. It's a lot larger block than I usually make but maybe scaled down it would work. If set with cornerstones and sashing, there would be a secondary pattern of Shoo Fly blocks which would be cute. Thanks for the link to the pattern.
The first thing that "hit" me when reading your blog today is the royal blue with red flower fabric in the first block and then one further along. That exact fabric is laying out in my sewing room right now. It was popular long ago. Mine is almost a yard. Oh my, what to do with it? Will figure it out. It could be a binding on one of my scrap quilts for sure. I have gotten so many ideas from you, thank you for writing.
The resulting quilt will make a wonderful QOV, Cathy!!
What pretty fabrics!
that would make an awesome QOV!
