Mid Week Chain Report

Saturday I decided to work on five different UFOs in April that involve CHAINS. Since then I've worked on all of them and am going to report on them every Wednesday in order to hold myself accountable.

Jack's Chain
I cut a lot of neutral hexagons and made five blocks. I've been using swapped nine patches with dark corners to make these.
I also made a long connector row.

 Trail Mix

I made the 24 Double Nine Patch blocks required and cut pieces for the next set of 48 blocks. Can't remember the next block but it will be the last of the five sets to make and then I can start quilt top assembly.
 Interlocking Chains

I made two more blocks and found fabric pairs for the rest of the blocks.  I think I have eight left to make.
 Gallimaufry

These little four inch blocks are inspired by a vintage quilt. If there is a name for this block I don't know. I just figured out how to make the block by looking at pictures.
Carolina Chains

7 with dark chains and 6 with light chains.

And so it goes...

The song Chain Chain Chain is going through my mind . . . I admire that you can switch lanes and work on one project one day and another the next. Great works in progress!

You always come up with great patterns for all your scrap fabrics, but my favorite of all time is Jack's Chain! I hope that sometime I'll be able to make that pattern, if only for a table topper. It really fascinates me! I'll be watching for the finished flimsy. ---"Love"

By working on your variety of chains you certainly won't get bored making the blocks.

You are keeping very busy as usual. I started my Jack's Chain awhile ago but am stalled because I need more of certain colors that I want to use. I cut a lot of neutrals for my Carolina Chain but still need to cut the darker fabric, which will be blues. So, pretty much a blue and white/neutral quilt that I think I will start doing as leader and enders. The problem is that every time I start a quilt that way, I get really psyched about it and end up going full speed ahead on it. So then I end up with no leader/enders again.

So many interesting blocks! You're gonna have a big batch of finished chain quilts next year :)

I'm impressed that you can keep all the parts for these projects separate and curious as to how you do it. I needed to clear the decks so I could quilt two baby quilts and as I picked up various cut pieces, I struggled to remember what I had cut them for. I have a Carolina Chains flimsy that I set aside because I really think it needs to be bigger, but I just didn't have the energy to find more fabric combos to make more blocks. Perhaps if I pull it out, inspiration will strike.

Great bunch of blocks - so much inspiration! (I made a nine patch the other day. No particular reason. Totally not because I've been admiring your Jack's Chain quilts. Nope. Just a nine patch.) (How many do you think I'll need?)

Love all your projects. I have always wanted to make a JACKS CHAIN.
I don't know if I should do it scrappy or not. Love yours
