It's a Finish!

Crossed String Quilt
57 x 76

It's a finish!

This is one of several different string quilts I made last year. This one used some of the longest strings.

I quilted it with horizontal and vertical lines with a red and yellow variegated thread on my DSM. I was going to use red thread but didn't think I would have enough so used the variegated.

The binding is scrappy - made from a lot of leftover pieces of bindings.

I had to piece the back and there wasn't quite enough of the fabric so I had to add another colorful piece.

And sew on...

Oh, I love that with the red background! I'm determined to make a quilt with a red background one of these years - maybe 2023 will be the year. Thanks for linking the tutorial, too!

Congratulations! I'll bet it feels good to get one finished.

What can I say--this is so right up my alley--love it a lot!! :)))
This would also make a lovely lap quilt size I think (hope!!) Good way to bash the string stash!! Hugs, Julierose

You have created a great splash of colour with your finished String quilt. Love the brightness of the red - it really makes the blocks sing. Nice pairing of fabrics for the backing and bits of leftover bindings sewn together are always a great idea. Your donation pile must be toppling over!

Wow! I really like this one! Thanks for the links back to the white background version. From there, I found the link to the tutorial. I might just give this a try sometime!
