Wednesday Wandering

I always try to go with the flow.

Several years ago limbs of a mulberry tree fell across the barbed wire fence that separates out our field from my flower garden. For one reason or another we could not cut some limbs all of the way back to the tree. A few limbs fell into my fairy garden next to the unruly Seven Sisters Roses I had managed to confine to a heart shaped trellis. Now the Seven Sisters can go back to their unruly nature and climb trees.

The Fairy Garden is a small circle in the middle of the photo surrounded by a cement path. Many years ago I made the pathway with cement poured into one of those molds that look like little cobblestones. Now the pathway is more of a semicircle since part of the path is blocked by limbs.

I have mostly miniature species of a variety of plants in the Fairy Garden as well as little fairies, frogs and gnomes I used to use to mark where I planted seeds and bulbs so I would remember from year to year where things were and not mistake anything for weeds. I used to put trinkets in a little wheelbarrow and coins in a little wishing well for the grandkids when they were younger. Ah, the thrill of  discovering a gift from the fairies!

The  Seven Sisters rose came from a cutting my husband's aunt Essie gave to me long ago.

Your rose looks very happy, even if it is unruly! I think it would be fun to sit among the fairies out there in your garden!

That's a magical little corner. Hope your days cooled off in IA as ours have in central IL... much nicer to wander the garden today than on Saturday, whew!

Roses are always pretty. Love how it climbs on the mulberry limbs. To me it looks like the perfect corner in a garden.

I love that you used the fallen tree as a trellis!

What a great way to incorporate the fallen branch into the fairy garden theme. Sounds lovely.
